I offer a comprehensive PM service from starting up a project (SU) right through to closing a project (CP). In all my projects I place a heavy emphasis on planning and quality assurance in order to ensure that the delivery of the work package itself runs as smoothly as possible. Furthermore, although my formal involvement ends at project closure, measures can be left in place for post-project reviews to assess how the product is performing during its life-span and arrangements can often be made for me to sit in on these events.

I will stress here that planning is often the weak point of projects and a realisation of how thoroughly planning should be undertaken is not appreciated until too late in the day. Before our project commences we should have as a bare minimum:

1. detailed specifications and scope for our end-product and a route-map for getting there (e.g. a product flow diagram)
2. a plan for ensuring quality
3. a plan for dealing with risks and exceptions
4. an understanding of what the project budget, time and resource tolerances are
5. a method for measuring results against the business case and project plan
6. identified and secured the right resources and suppliers, and an adequate project team
7. agreed roles, responsibilities and authority
8. created both project documentation and administration processes necessary to manage the project and leave an accurate and useful audit trail
